Requirements
Applicants must be above the age of eighteen and a lineal descendant in the male or female line of a Huguenot who emigrated from France, and that such Huguenot émigré or one of his or her descendants in the same line either settled in what is now the United States of America or left France for countries other than America prior to the promulgation of the Edict of Toleration on November 28, 1787.
If the applicant knows no current member of the Society, two letters of recommendation from people in their community, business life or social life, members of a related patriotic society, organization, club or church will be considered. They can be sent by email or postal mail.
A filing fee (one-time only) of $150 is required to cover administrative costs. It can be paid through PayPal on the website or by sending a check to the office (see address below). No Preliminary Application without the filing fee payment and the letters of recommendation (or proposer/seconder) will be accepted.

Non-Resident (residing more than 100 miles from New York City): $50.00
Life Membership: $1,500.00 (in lieu of annual dues)
The completed Preliminary Application, along with a check for the filing fee of $150.00, should be mailed to the following address :

When the Preliminary Application has been reviewed by the Membership Committee, the applicant will be recommended to the Council for approval and final application forms, in duplicate, will be sent with instructions for their execution.
